Tools for Vitality: Therapy, Coaching, Optimizing Nutrition and Movement for Mental Wellness
Hey there, I am wanting to talk about a smaller and not so prideful, looking mature. And he and I keep coming back to this because the food that we consume, influences what the body produces in terms of the chemicals in the body that influence how we feel about ourselves, we make sense of as we are in the world. And so control and health and healthy power is within our reach. And so I just can't stop talking about this. And I find myself in this incredibly busy and complex life, with anything from family and family members and Pandemic related situations and work, of course, that it just drives me to look for these simple yet very effective tools that we can use to be the best in our world, and to use our voice to really make the impact that we get to have. So okay, let's go back to tumeric, which is a very, again, in depending on which culture, you're from, one of those things that has been more invoked in the last couple of years here in the Western world. But one thing that enables the nutrients in food to be so important to health is the power of what we call repetition. So feet, there's many chemicals in the body, and we call them phytochemicals. And phytochemicals is this super ingredient to our health, so many fruits and vegetables. And they are a chemical that if we eat them, even in a very small amount on a daily basis, those phyto chemicals can provide an amazing outstanding benefit to our mind and bodies. So you maybe have heard that what's in carrots the carotene is linked to health of your eye. And or that's a now common, this yellow orange substance that we can find in the stores in amazing restaurants, or even our coffee lattes out here and gives this route Tumeric just this this amazing feature. So rude. Tumeric is part of the ginger family. And so in Indian culture, for example, it's it's just a normal part of people's curries, or even used for medication. So Tumeric usually the root itself has only three to 5% of crew coming in it. But even that, as a nutrient is if you eat regularly can address ailments from anything from inflammation, depression, even to cancer and dementia. So common is a polyphenol and one of a kind of chemical that occurs naturally in plants. And that helps the body to ward off diseases in destruction. So anything from like insects or radiation, or you know, even recovering plant recovery from such influences. Now, it helps plants but it even helps us as well. So as we have it, let's say in food, it can remain with its bioactive capacities. And these perks that we see in the natural world can also help us in our digestive and overall health overall, all health. So we see like core common now having this little human race here in the Western world. So and we have even seen that there's clinical trials now that it can literally be looked at in a scientific way. I know that's a loaded word, but studies show that curcumin stimulates the release of proteins, and they're called cytokines that are in your body on your digestive tract. And cytokines are awesome because they come and heal your inflammation. So common stimulates that that is being triggered in your body. And as we know that chronic inflammation is one of those major players in many diseases, including let's say cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, obesity, dementia and depression. So there's a lot of evidence that people you know, with more inflammation, maybe more likely for example to be depressed. So, as they are looking at this, this measure of curcumin for example in Australia So they conducted clinical trials there for trading, specifically depression. And so now coming seems to be influencing, you know, people's mental health by first helping to, you know, basically inflammation to decrease and then subsequently help depression to be curbed. It also helps us as we all get age issues with aging everyday and shooting, you know, as we consume curcumin, which shields us against cognitive decline, and both those proteins that are linked to dementia. So for example, in India, you have one of the lowest rates of Alzheimer's disease, which, you know, we could see as some evidence to the points to come and where their consumer rather than more than over here, as Curcumin is a protective agent in dealing with dementia or Alzheimer's. So more recently, even here, if we're thinking about the energy producing parts in the cell that we call the Condra. Researchers now also have figured out that procurement is helping with generating and maintaining the Mitchell Condra in itself. And that's especially important for your brain. So coming contributes to the integrity of how the organelles are on the mitochondria working. And again, if we think about Mr. Condra, being involved in let's say, Alzheimers disease, you know, we'll want to power up the capacity and the health of your mitochondria. And as they study, I think in Melbourne, at the university there, they, they have studied that daily consumption of a supplement with 80 milligram of curcumin, boosted memory and moved after four weeks. So that is, it's just such an easy boost, right? If we think about it, doesn't mean we have to go to counseling, it doesn't mean we have to do, you know, major changes in our lives, it even worked by just using a supplement. So anyways, um, so I think they are in those studies gave about, I think, at about less than 100 people 50 to 80. Like between 1580 years old common in a place of just something that looked like common but wasn't. And then basically at the end of that study, those who had consumed the real stuff, were significantly better on working memory tasks. So stuff where we use our brain to retain information and then search through our memory bank, what's the appropriate answer? And that's really critical. If we think about memory with regards to dementia, or other cognitive decline, a lot of times that working memory is easily affected. Now, the mood was also positively in fact affected by wasn't acid is clearly indicative in those studies. At the same time, if we think about, you know, even like helping us with fatigue, then, you know, dealing with exhaustion that's so commonly coinciding with depression, common seem to be helping as well. So in closing, I would want to invite us to figure out whether there is some supplement we can consider trying out, or we find ourselves with reaching or for common in our spice drawer. But let's try it out and see how that may augment your overall health and sanity.
