Hi there, while the world is still doing its thing, and most recently, we had a Wi Fi and our very close neighborhood by by God's money we've been spared. Let's keep honing in on the stuff that helps us with our well being, mental wellness and sanity. And so I want to pick this ingredient to our mental wellness, that is vitamin B free on niacin, which is one of eight B vitamins. And why this is an amazing ingredient for our mental wellness. And why mental wellness at this time, we truly need it with everything that wants to pull us, distract us and reroute us from our place in life where we get to be at our best. And we did use our voice and exercise our sanity. So let's figure organizing it's the key role of nice in our body is to synthesize co enzymes, the NAD I think they call it and the NAD P which involved in 400 biochemical reactions has to do with relating energy from food that we eat. And it has many, many great benefits. So what happens is, as with all B vitamins, niacin helps to convert food into energy by eating the enzyme. So it's these enzymes that that that help with the with the cells and metabolism. Now also, the niacin helps with signal cell signaling and repairing the DNA, which is also fantastic. Now, if we don't have enough niacin, we could have a skin rash of discolored skin, we could find ourselves with vomiting, constipation, diarrhea, depression, fatigue, certainly headaches, memory loss, loss of a cup of sight. And if we think about our Western culture, that is very, very rare, nice and is in many diets in Western countries. But if for example, there is malnutrition, for whatever reasons, such as anorexia, liver failure, alcohol abuse, other medical problems or poverty, then we may have deficits in Nice. And so how much we need just this milligram dosage. Where we for adolescents and adults, I think, for me, it's about 60 milligram the day, and for women, it's about 14. And so the idea is where we would find that that niacin is that we would find it in grilled chicken, roasted turkey, brown rice, peanuts, and potatoes. So there's actually many foods like meats, nuts, lagoons, that are formed with this type of vitamin. And I really want us to just make our best out of this time that we're doing. So we have five different benefits of nursing and and we just referenced them real fast. So it is a sales pitch to you, that we just make sure that we eat those foods that has the medicine in it. So one health benefit is that it improves your blood fat levels. So it increases your good cholesterol, reduces your bad cholesterol, and also those levels that there are with the triglycerides, I think and so that then helps with helping us with managing heart risk or health disease issues. And, you know, it's, it's just used to help improve, you know, blood fat, travel fat levels and people. But you know, it's just one of the benefits. The other second benefit is that we see reduction in blood pressure. So the role of niacin is to relieve this prostate gland Dinah's thing or a chemical that helps your blood vessels widen, that helps with the blood flow. So they found, for example, that each one milligram increase in the niacin intake was associated with a 2.2% decrease in high blood pressure risk in a group of I think 12,000 adults, which was really wonderful to see or the pressure that you even see in the ventricles. But again, there's just a couple of studies here, and there might be more that we need to kind of consolidate that benefit. We also see that nice and may help with treating type one diabetes, which again, this is a disease in which your body attacks and destroys your insulin creating cells in your pancreas. Also with two, type two diabetes, the role of the nicey may be more complicated, but also if you think about it, cholesterol levels and keeping those in check that they're often seen in people with type two diabetes, then it can potentially mitigate that, while we have to be aware that also, blood sugar levels may be increased with the use of niacin so, so you got to watch it. But in general for type one diabetes medicine is, is great. The fourth benefit is that it boosts your brain function for energy and function that helps with decreasing brain fog. It helps with diagnosing deficient symptoms such as depression. They've also studied or explored that some of types of schizophrenia can be treated with that. And, you know, it's definitely something that we want to consider. And that might be a great thing to review with your healthcare practitioner a few struggling with mental disorders. Finally, it also improves your skin health, from cell damage, like from sun damage, for example, or as well with like skins cancer. So when they took, for example, in 300, people with with high risk of skin cancer, they found that when they took those 500 milligrams of that niacin twice a day, it compared the risk of skin cancer in comparison to another group that didn't receive that treatment. So I just want to inspire us to keep eating looking for the meats. For the US, looking for the brown rice, for example, instead of processed buying white rice, bag potatoes, that we can then you know, keep that nice and coming to our body. So most people can get enough through diet alone, just we got to pay attention, what we eat, and you know what types of food we eat. You know, your doctor may recommend a supplement. And, you know, specifically if you're dealing with high cholesterol and throw disease, you would want to review that with your doctor. And then also review and discuss potential side effects if you take too much nicer. So the bottom line is it's one of those your vitamins that are important for every part of our body, we can get all the nice need for the food, such as meat, fish, and nuts. And if you think as usual, you may need to take nice and talk with your healthcare provider. So I'm always grateful to share what I can look up because I truly believe that we can boost our mental health and wellness and our sanity through these everyday which tools that we have at our fingertips.
